This double-filled, #10 duck cotton canvas features threads that are doubled in both the warp (lengthwise) and the weft (widthwise) threads. The weave is tight, giving great strength with a smooth surface. This canvas stands up well to the strain of stretching larger sizes.
Fewer coats of gesso are needed to achieve a very uniform even finish, great for detailed work and glazing. The 100% cotton has a warm off-white to cream colour.
#10 duck measures 14.75 oz/sq yd.

I bought a large roll of this canvas over 10 years ago from the Opus in Langley. I used the bulk of it to create hand painted floor cloths, which it is perfect for. I recently needed to recover an old leather chair and decided to use my leftover canvas to make the cushions. It sewed up beautifully! It was the perfect weight and finish. I just went to my local Opus in Victoria to see if they still carried the same material. Sure enough, they did, and the price was still very cheap! Reupholstered my ottoman for about $7!! Can't get better than that!
I'm always very happy with the Opus staff I encounter at the Victoria location... always friendly and helpful and interesting to talk to about art in general.
