Multimedia Canvas with Tanta Pennington

Starting with a pre-painted canvas, Tanta will cut through it so she can weave in found elements from front to back. They will be attached using, wire, wool, screws and glue. The work is colourful, process oriented and intriguing.

Tanta is an artist living and painting in Victoria, BC. She is currently enrolled in the diploma program at the Vancouver Island School of Art and will graduate in 2011. Acrylic Portraiture with Barry Walker

Barry demonstrates techniques for portraiture using acrylic on canvas. He will paint a portrait during the demo, sharing his process and style with you. Some of his sitters include Elvis Costello, Silken Laumann and Shakespearean actor and director Neil Freeman.

Barry completed his early training at the East Sydney College of Art, where he studied portraiture at a young age. As a teen in Australia, Barry was taught by one of Australia’s foremost portrait painters, Joshua Smith. Acrylic Painting with Ken Horn
