Having grown up in Summerland, Sarah attended Okanagan University in Kelowna, and completed her Bachelor of Fine Art Degree in 2001. While she focused on drawing and photography, she also excelled in writing and cultural studies.

After university Sarah moved to the lower mainland and has continued working on her fine art practice. As part of her fine art practice, Sarah invested in digital photography equipment and also printing equipment, which enables her to print her photographs as needed (on a wide range of surfaces) using a unique process called sublimation. Sarah primarily sells her printed photographs in lower mainland gift shops and smaller galleries.

While photography plays a role in maintaining her creative balance, Sarah’s true passion as an artist has always been drawing. Preferring to work with charcoal on paper in a very large scale, she has also spent a lot of time creating small detailed pencil drawings on layered drafting film.
