Take it Outside and Paint Your Town with Veronica Roth

North Vancouver
Sat, February 24, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Sat, February 24, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

February 20, 2018 – Please note: The 10:30 AM demonstration is now full and no further registration will be taken. Thank you for your interest! Note: there is still room in the 2:00 PM demonstration.

Capture your everyday in the most delightful way with a fun, versatile, and wonderfully varied bespoke sketchbook!

Join mixed media artist Veronica Roth as she encourages to imagine what your sketchbook could be! Learn how to prepare your sketchbook for daily practice, creating a basic portable studio to take with you as you move through life, collecting items that you’ll draw, glue and make imprints of.

Veronica will be demonstrating how to express yourself with a myriad of ephemera: sketchbooks, found paper, glues, acrylic mediums, watercolour, inks, pencils, fabric, scissors, knives, and more. She will be sharing some of her personal favourite techniques, including mark making, rust transfers, fabric transfers, and deconstructing photos and Polaroids.

You’ll take home instructions and prompts to help you get started, encouragement for photography and sketching that connects you with the architecture, people, history, and beauty in the ordinary and familiar that we see in front of us every day.

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus North Vancouver or contact them at 604‑904‑0447 to register.

A veracious participant in Opus's 28 days of practice, Veronica Roth, is a mixed media artist that splits her time between Vancouver BC and Oxfordshire England and uses everything including, but not limited to, lino, watercolour, oil paints, collage and more. You can see all of her adventure in art on her blog, http://veronicaroth.com
