Intro to Scratchboard Illustration with Andrea Hooge

Join Andrea as she introduces you to drawing on scratchboard!

She will be demonstrating tips and tricks on transferring images, creating textures, as well as correcting mistakes when illustrating on scratchboard.

Attendees will be shown a variety of materials and tools for these methods, as well as how the final work can be sealed. This demonstration is great for both beginners and intermediates.

Space is limited and registration is required.

Andrea Hooge is an artist living and working out of her studio at the Arts Factory in East Vancouver. She is often inspired by the nostalgia of vintage magazine and children's books, and her focus is mainly on creating figurative oil paintings and scratchboards. Andrea attended the University of the Fraser Valley, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in visual arts. Her work has been exhibited in various group shows in Vancouver, and she has had five solo exhibitions, titled "Dolly," "Scratch," "Menno Kitty," "Easter Eggs," and "Toy Babies" at Hot Art Wet City.
