From Idea to Installation: A Presentation on Artistic Process with Jay Senetchko

North Vancouver
Sat, October 21, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Sat, October 21, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Jay will present a Powerpoint presentation covering how he develops the imagery in his paintings.

The presentation will include references to preparatory sketches, theoretical and historical readings, personal history, compositional and colour choices, changes made during the development process, the finished picture and associated imagery, and finally how that picture is presented in the larger context of an installation.

Discussion will include the rationale behind these stages in the artist’s process, how they relate to his personality, interests and background, as well as their importance to creating the presentation of the finished work. The goal of the presentation is to give insight into a particular creative process, and the relationship between that process, the exhibition of work, and maintaining a career as an artist.

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus North Vancouver or contact them at 604‑904‑0447 to register.
