The Art of Seeing: How keen observation of our surroundings can lead to depth in abstract acrylic painting with Lisa Ochowycz

Location:
Langley
Sun, January 28, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Sun, January 28, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Lisa will be demonstrating and encouraging looseness, abstraction, and supporting your individual artistic voice as you paint in acrylic.

You will learn how paying close attention to our environment (built and natural) can help translate what we see around us into abstract mark making and brush work.

Lisa will discuss starting an abstract painting, building layers of painted imagery, how understanding your medium and building your skills can allow for more freedom in the work. She will also show how to draw upon your environment, life experience, and passions and translate them into paint.

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Langley or contact them at 604‑533‑0601 to register.

Lisa is a full time painter and has been based in Vancouver for the last 14 years. Her series are named after streets or neighbourhoods, near and far, that have played a role in her artistic explorations. She has shown both locally and nationally and her work can be found in private collections world wide. She teaches across the lower mainland and in 2016, she was awarded a four week artist residency in Iceland, and in 2013, a artist residency in Saskatchewan.
